Round-the-world sailing expedition "Siberia - Antarctica - Siberia" - the main part of the international project ".
The strength of Russia will grow by the Arctic
and the Antarctic!". It includes not only organizational, technical, and expeditionary activities, but also the public events, both within our country and outside of Russia.
The idea of this expedition was determined by approaching
the significant date: January 28, 2020 marks the 200th anniversary of the discovery of Antarctica by Russian sailors under the command of F. F. Bellingshausen and M. P.Lazarev.
It was on the sailing ships “Vostok” and “Mirny” that in 1820 were the first to reach the sixth continent of our planet. In fact, it was the last geographical discovery of a similar scale, because after that there were no more large “white spots”
on the surface of the globe.
